The Iran-aligned Islamist movement says it targeted weapons depots and command facilities at the Sharurah military base in southern Saudi Arabia.
Saudi authorities separately reported a projectile strike in Al-Tuwal, Jazan.
Two people were injured.
Saudi footage showed damage to residential buildings and a mosque.
Reuters reported the damage alongside the Houthis’ separate claim to have attacked the military base.
A REGIONAL MILITARY POWER
The Houthis emerged from Yemen’s Zaidi Shia movement and have developed into an armed Islamist force capable of striking well beyond Yemeni territory.
Their renewed campaign is now reaching Saudi military targets, civilian areas and energy infrastructure.
The damage in Jazan also exposes an obvious contradiction.
An Islamist movement claiming religious legitimacy is escalating a campaign that is injuring Muslim civilians and damaging a mosque.
