Democrats want faster action.
House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries says Congress should take “decisive action now” to slow development, with AI expected to be a major issue when House Democrats meet on Tuesday.
Trump sees another danger.
America is currently ahead of China in frontier AI and he has rejected calls for restraint that could sacrifice that advantage.
His position is blunt:
“Whoever wins AI wins.”
